This Privacy Policy describes how Main Character ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Main Character ("we", "us", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our application. Main Character is an entertainment app that lets you answer a short quiz and enter a display name to generate a personalized, shareable RPG-style character stat card.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App is designed to be offline-first: the character names you type and the cards you generate are stored only on your device. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Information you provide: The display name you enter and the quiz answers you choose to generate your character card. This information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
- Device and technical information: Device model, operating system version, app version, language, region, unique device and installation identifiers, and network information, collected automatically by our analytics and crash-reporting tools.
- Advertising identifiers: Identifiers such as the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and Google Advertising ID (AAID), used to serve and measure ads (subject to your tracking permission).
- Usage and diagnostics data: In-app events (such as cards generated, screens viewed, ads watched, and features used), session recordings of in-app interactions, crash logs, and performance data.
- Purchase information: Records of in-app purchases (such as the ad-free upgrade) and their status, processed through the app store and our subscription management provider. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate, display, save, and let you share your character cards.
- Provide core features such as your local card collection, comparisons, and daily streaks.
- Display advertising and, where permitted, personalized advertising.
- Process and validate in-app purchases and restore previous purchases.
- Analyze usage to understand how the App is used and improve features and stability.
- Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes, bugs, and performance issues.
- Send push notifications (where you have enabled them).
- Deliver over-the-air updates to keep the App current.
Advertising and Tracking
The App displays advertising through Google AdMob, including banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your choices and platform settings.
- App Tracking Transparency (iOS): On Apple devices, we request your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites for advertising purposes. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized.
- Advertising ID (Android): We use the Google Advertising ID for advertising and measurement. You can reset or limit it in your device settings.
- Ad measurement: We use advertising and attribution tools (including the Facebook SDK and TikTok ad events) to measure advertising effectiveness and app installs.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device's privacy or ad settings, or by purchasing the ad-free upgrade.
Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted third-party services that may process certain data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Messaging, and Remote Config)
- Google AdMob & Google Play Services
- RevenueCat (in-app purchase management)
- Meta / Facebook SDK (advertising and analytics)
- TikTok (ad events and attribution)
- Microsoft Clarity (in-app behavior and session analytics)
- Expo (app infrastructure, insights, and over-the-air updates)
- Apple (App Store and in-app purchases)
Permissions We Request
The App may request the following permissions. Each is used only for the stated purpose, and you can manage them in your device settings:
- Photo Library / Media access: Used to save the character card images you generate to your device's photo gallery.
- Notifications: Used to send you push notifications, such as reminders and updates. You can disable these at any time.
- Tracking (iOS App Tracking Transparency): Used to enable personalized advertising, only if you grant permission.
- Network access: Used to load ads, analytics, configuration, and over-the-air updates.
The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or precise location.
Data Storage and Retention
The character names you enter and the cards you generate are stored locally on your device using on-device storage and are not uploaded to our servers. Deleting the App removes this local data.
Data collected by our third-party analytics, crash-reporting, and advertising providers is retained according to their respective retention policies. We retain diagnostic and usage data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
Push Notifications
With your consent, we may send push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging to share updates, reminders, and relevant content. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device's notification settings or by turning them off within the App.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Data transmitted to third-party services is sent over encrypted connections. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Main Character is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at thalytaaraujo029@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete such information. Parents and guardians who allow minors to use the App should supervise their use, particularly regarding advertising and sharing features.
Your Privacy Rights

Account and Data Deletion
The App does not require you to create a personal account to use its core features. The names and cards you create are stored locally, and you can remove them at any time by deleting the relevant cards or uninstalling the App.
If you would like us to delete any data associated with you that may have been collected through our third-party services, you can request deletion by emailing us at thalytaaraujo029@gmail.com. We will process verified deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe, subject to applicable legal obligations.
International Data Transfers
Our third-party service providers may process and store information on servers located in countries other than your own. By using the App, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in these locations, which may have different data protection laws. We rely on these providers' safeguards for such transfers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date below and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
